Welcome to our exciting poll where we aim to address the ultimate question that lingers in the minds of fitness enthusiasts: the timing of morning classes! At Western Ave Boxing, we understand the importance of tailoring our schedule to fit your needs, offering options that best suit your lifestyle. Today, we are putting the power in your hands to decide between a 7am or 8am class on Tuesday and Thursday. So, grab your boxing gloves and let’s dive into the debate!

5 Reasons Why Early Morning Classes Rock:

  • Before Work Boost : Starting your day with a high-intensity workout not only sets a positive tone but also boosts your energy levels for the day ahead!

  • Fitness Consistency : Morning classes provide a structured routine, making it easier to stick to your fitness goals without interruptions or conflicting schedules.

  • After School Drop-Off : For those with busy mornings, an early workout gives you the perfect window post-school drop-offs to focus on yourself before the day gets too hectic.

  • Enhanced Metabolism : Jumpstarting your metabolism early in the day enhances calorie-burning potential and helps maintain a healthy weight.

  • Mood Booster : Exercise releases endorphins, the 'feel-good' hormones, leaving you with a positive outlook that lasts beyond the class!

While the decision ultimately lies in the hands of our dedicated members, we at Western Ave Boxing are excited to see the results unfold and tailor our schedule to best meet your preferences. Whether it’s a spirited 7am class or a slightly leisurely 8am session, what matters most is your commitment to health and well-being. We’re here to support and cheer you on every step of the way!

There's a lot that goes on in your everyday life that can cause mental fatigue and frustration.

Don't you agree?

Tried using a crutch to alleviate those problems? I know I did. Then, Boxing came into my life.

Day by day I continued to improve and I gained a true sense of accomplishment, but don't get me wrong, I still faced huge hurdles in this sport. But deep down in my soul I knew that my true self still laid dormant.

How could I ever find the true meaning of my purpose?

The main question that kept me showing up day after day to the Boxing gym.

I honestly didn't know how I was going to find these answers, but channeling my frustrations through the movements, sparring, workouts, brought clarity with each training session I suffered through.

Day by day I was given a meaning to my chaotic life i created.

This sport gave me purpose for this world.

I was finally someone.

I had value, I had reason, I had goals that when i achieved, I felt fulfilled.

There it laid right in front of me this whole time.

My mind was never set on a certain goal, and that is why I never had a healthy mental state.

Yes, this sport is cruel and brutal, but what could be your final outcome?

A sense of satisfaction in the sense that you came into the gym with a goal in mind, and you took on a challenge that you never placed yourself through to find out what the fuck you are really made of.

Placing yourself through physical hardship will strip away the useless fluff in your mind.

The things that only weigh you down will slowly shed away session after session.

You can also make peace with the monster that is within all of us by allowing it to let loose and play a bit in the gym without judgement.

Learn to not hide your monster.

Learn to live with it.

Just show it who is boss.

Keep punching away, good people.

Meet Daniel Tran: The Passionate Head Coach at Western Avenue Boxing Gym

Introduction

Nestled in the bustling and vibrant district of Western Avenue in Oklahoma City stands Western Avenue Boxing Gym. This renowned establishment has been at the forefront of fitness and mental well-being for over 17 years. Led by a team of dedicated professionals, one name that stands out is Daniel Tran, a head coach who epitomizes dedication and passion for boxing.

About the Gym

Western Avenue Boxing Gym is much more than a traditional gym; it is a sanctuary for fitness enthusiasts and those seeking mental clarity. Specializing in boxing, the gym offers tailored programs that not only focus on physical fitness but also mental health. It's a place where you can find solace from the everyday troubles, channel your energy positively, and grow into a stronger individual.

A Coach with a Vision

Daniel Tran, alongside other head coaches, has crafted a unique environment that welcomes individuals willing to place themselves in the proverbial “ring” of life. He explains, “We preach what we've practiced. We are all former competitors with real-life boxing experience.” Unlike many others, Western Avenue Boxing Gym’s coaches are not just enthusiasts pulling knowledge off the internet—they've walked the walk.

A Personal Journey

Born and raised in Oklahoma City, Daniel Tran embodies the spirit of the locale. With nearly 15 years at the gym, Daniel has seen it evolve into a community cornerstone. Reflecting on a significant event, Tran recounts the passing of their beloved coach, Billy Smith. “Billy taught us how to face our struggles head-on, both in the ring and in life,” shares Tran. The gallant coach continues to inspire Tran and his team, instilling values of perseverance and resilience.

Family and Team Spirit

At Western Avenue Boxing Gym, the team atmosphere is a testament to their family-like bonds. Head Coaches and retired professional boxers Rebecca and Travis Hoffman, the gym's owners, have been instrumental in its growth and success. Daniel also highlights Coach Stephen, a former competitor with an exceptional aptitude for coaching. The camaraderie and teamwork among them ensure that every member feels supported and motivated.

Commitment to the Community

The gym also actively supports various charities, like the "Mac Attack" foundation, honoring a young boxing enthusiast who tragically passed away from leukemia. Their contributions help spread awareness and foster a sense of community.

A Personal Touch

For Daniel Tran, boxing is a lifelong passion that has also allowed him to balance family life. With two beautiful children, a 12-year-old daughter, and a 4-year-old son, Tran is all too familiar with the challenges of parenthood. Yet, he draws strength from these roles, finding deeper meaning in his day-to-day life at the gym.

Looking Forward

Western Avenue Boxing Gym continues to grow, attracting people from all walks of life. Their commitment to providing an authentic boxing experience, coupled with mental fortitude training, sets them apart.
